We know that big thrills are associated with big risks. And this applies to riding a motorcycle as well. Wearing the right gear can help you prevent a serious injury. Therefore, you may want to invest in quality protective gear and use it before you get on your motorcycle. Given below is a description of important gear that you should buy and use. Read on.

Pants and Jackets

Wearing pants and a thick jacket will secure your skin in case of an accident. Ideally, the fabric should be durable, such as leather. If possible, put on a jacket that is designed for motorcyclists.

Aside from this, you can also put on body armor beneath the jacket. Make sure that the armor can satisfy the safety standards.

Avoid: A Dress or Skirt

Although you may like to wear a flowy skirt and a leather jacket, it can be quite dangerous. Remember: pants are your safest option when riding a motorbike.

Use a Helmet

You can find different types of helmets these days. If you are a new rider, we suggest that you invest in a helmet based on your consultation with your local expert. This will help you choose the right size and style based on your head shape and need.

If this is your first ride, we suggest that you rent a helmet from a local gear shop. For protection, make sure that the thing can fit snugly. You can try out different types of helmets at the shop. Make sure you choose the right one.

Avoid: Dark Clothing

It's not a good idea to wear dark clothing, especially if you need to ride your motorbike at night. Ideally, the jacket you are going to wear should feature reflective stripes. In the same way, your helmet should have reflective patches or stripes on it. This will help other riders or drivers see you easily at night.

Motorcycle Boots

Most motorcyclists want to wear cool and stylish boots when they are riding. However, stylish and cool shouldn't be the only features of your boots that you should focus on. Aside from this, your boots should also be solid and sturdy.

If they are sturdy, they won't bend in case of a crash and will keep your feet stable. Also, your boots should feature non-slip soles. Ideally, your boot should extend to the ankles.

Gloves

Gloves are your best choice as far as safety is concerned. They can protect your hands from a lot of weather elements like wind, sun and cold. Besides, they can help you develop a stronger grip on your motorbike handles.

Ideally, you may want to opt for gloves that can cover your hands and won't leave any part of your skin exposed. There is no need to mention that the gloves should be thick and strong enough to provide protection and stand the test of time.

Awnings are a perennial favorite among RV-ers. Not only do they improve the outdoor experience by protecting you from the rain and the sun, but the right add-ons like LED lighting and attachable rooms also make life-on-the-road more convenient. In fact, electric RV awnings are all the rage right now since they cost less, and RV-ers can set them up easily. The problem is, like all electrical equipment, this product too experiences problems and most of them are motor-related. Imagine the surprise when a potential RV buyer visits you and finds that the awning motor doesn't work. If you want to get cash for your RV, this is a deal-breaker for many interested parties. To avoid facing such a situation, you need to replace the awning motor. This doesn't require any special skills, and you can complete this task yourself. Find out how below:
Select the Right Motor
It's easy to get confused by the options of automatic RV awnings available in the market. However, make the ones with manual override features your priority. This nifty emergency feature allows RV-ers to pull back the awning manually when there is no electricity. You will find lots of electric awnings with built-in receivers which you can easily operate using a remote control or a wall-mounted control switch. Some brands add wind-and-sun sensors to their products, allowing them to open and close automatically depending on the weather condition. You can plug motorized awnings into a standard RV power outlet.
Get the New Awning Ready
Keep the mounting bracket in a retracted position and remove the product. Gently lay it on the ground and take off the end cap. Now, you must loosen the roller end bracket securing bolts. This will allow you to slide the bracket to the left-end so that the torsion bar is easily removable. After removing the gear, remember to take off the square toe too. This part will no longer be necessary; the motor will substitute its place.
Set Up the Motor
Slide the motor to the end of the motor tube, and connect every piece of hardware. Check the manual once, as the included components tend to vary from one manufacturer to another. Now, put the gear for the manual handle back into its place along with the roller end bracket. Make sure you tighten the securing bolts' nuts. Then install the end cap. Connect the awning securely to the mounting brackets and reinstall it. Finally, hook up your motor cable to the wall control panel. If you buy a wireless model, set up the wireless control bracket in a shaded area and plug the wall control panel cable into the electrical wall receptacle. Inspect each of the buttons on the remote and switch to know whether they're working the way they should.
RV awnings are capable of transforming the outdoor area into something spectacular, and that significantly increases the value of your RV. However, before you place your RV in the market to sell it for cash, make sure the motor is working carefully. This will ensure the deal goes through smoothly, and your potential customer finds no reason to back out of the deal!

Auto repair is not rocket science and you can learn the basics by consulting good auto repair guides freely found on the World Wide Web, which often provide detailed, step-by-step instructions on all sorts of auto repair. However, before you have to replace your parts, it is best to keep them in good condition so that they may last longer.

Proper cleaning of your wheels is one way of ensuring you get good performance for longer from them. For routine cleaning, using just a mild soap and water will be enough. However, when you want to carry out thorough cleaning, you need to know the type of finish used on your wheels so that you do not cause any damage on them. Different finishes require different types of cleaners, so you need to know what kind of finish your wheels are made of.

To properly clean your wheels and keep them in perfect shape, here are some key pointers you need to keep in mind;

· First ensure that the vehicle is parked under a shade so that the sun does not dry the soap faster than you can rinse it off, and remember to turn off the engine to cool the metal and the brakes around the rims. Don't let abrasive tire cleaners come into contact with your wheels, and try not to spray cold water on hot wheels. Using a mild soap and water, lather your wheels sufficiently.

· Rinse off the wheels. Depending on the coating on your wheels and the amount of dirt, you may use a pressure washer. Then, using cleansers that contain no additives like bleach add a few drops of the cleanser in a large bucket of water and properly mix it.

· After rinsing your wheels, choose a suitable polish and evenly polish them up. For clear coated wheels, use a polishing cleaner that is provided by the manufacturer. The main reason for polishing is to enhance the shine of the glossy rims after washing- and you can do this using a rag in circular motion until the whole area is evenly coated.

· Finally, if you have chrome-plated wheels, wax them until the wax is completely rubbed in and is not noticeable. If you have clear coated wheels, you may leave out this step. The wax will create a layer between dirt, debris, oil and even the rims, making it easier for you the next time you clean your rims and also prevents surface corrosion.

Following the above simple steps, you're sure to maintain the great look of your tires for a long period of time. Doing your homework in terms of knowing your needs, your budget and the best tire manufacturers in the market for your auto is very important to get the right quality wheels in the first place. Having a good routine maintenance on your auto will keep your wheels running for longer and save you money.

It is well-known that motorized bicycles are both good for the world and also a person's finances. However, we will be perfectly frank - bikes that are utilizing gas driven motors have technically been shown to crank out unclean exhaust compared to their larger sized competitors. This is because of the loss of emission control systems, predominately as a result of the total area required to attach those things.

Still, in the event you do get a fuel powered bi-cycle, your impact on the environment will likely be well less than what's produced by the littlest of cars, so you'll be adding much less to the worlds' carbon emissions. This is simply because motorized bikes use less fuel, and may get approximately one hundred miles per gallon or even more, so the CO2 discharge are not at all comparable to that of a car or truck. Be that as it may, it is accurate that the smog is filthy, so you probably will not want to operate it in a garage!

With an electric powered drive mechanism your bicycle will release absolutely no smog while you're driving. The favorite way to go is usually a human-electric crossbreed bicycle, often referred to as a "pedelec". Even if taking into consideration the pollution that is produced to generate the electricity to power up a battery, electric bikes introduce only one-tenth of the greenhouse gasses that's normally introduced by using a vehicle a similar distance. This is lowered further by simply pedaling with a hybrid electric bicycle.

If it so happens that you prefer making use of a bicycle more but realize you are going with a vehicle, seriously consider buying a DIY electric bicycle system. As a result of adding an electric motor to an old and worn bicycle, it is possible to propel yourself like one usually would, and then effortlessly turn your handlebar for power when it's needed, like driving up a large hill.

You will find there are loads of remarkable benefits from regularly scheduled biking, including physical fitness and mental fitness. Simply by making one basic alteration in your lifestyle (for instance such as biking to work) now you could get the approved amount of day to day activity to be much healthier. Riding a bicycle grows muscle in your limbs, builds your tone of muscle, betters endurance, heightens aerobic well being, burns calories, boosts coordination, minimizes stress, increases youthfulness, etc., etc.!

When contemplating the extra money you can save by getting a motorized bicycle, all of us are likely to stop at the high gas prices. While that does aggregate to loads of cash as time passes, you will find there's quite a lot of various other ways biking could conserve you money as well. Beyond just not spending money on fuel, a motor-assisted cycle can actually compensate for a secondary automobile. Doing so not only saves a bunch with the upfront price tag of a car, but additionally considerably more capital over the years when bearing in mind the many other charges.

Whether you are buying brand new, pre-owned or building your individual, educating yourself on the basics of caravanning will take the guess figure out of acquiring the right caravan to suit your needs.

Safety of yourself, your occupants and other people on the road whilst travelling is the reason to arm yourself with all the correct information before investing in a caravan. Knowing a few simple tips can also save you 1000s of dollars worth of upgrades or even modifications down the track.

Ask Yourself:

1) What's your Tow Vehicle Capability?

It's not uncommon to your standard family car to get considered under rated, unsafe or even illegal to tow the new caravan you want to purchase. Knowing your tow car or truck capacity or tow rating will allow you to decide what fully loaded weight caravan you'll be able to safely and legally tow line.

When you know the tow vehicle rating/capacity, think very carefully against about investing in a caravan very close for a maximum allowable towing weight rating as there are a variety of variables that can easily overload you or also de-rate/reduce the specified tow line vehicle rating, this can unintentionally put you into the 'illegal and unsafe' zone.

The ATM (Aggregate Trailer Mass) would be the total weight in kilograms of the fully loaded caravan. The ideal ATM of a caravan is defined by the caravan manufacturer and it is stamped on your caravans recognition plate. To be safe ensure that your cars tow rating is a least rated more compared to ATM of your caravan.

Think of the extra possible weight (luggage, fuel, camping products, caravan accessories, bike racks and application boxes etc) thrown into or mounted on your caravan whilst visiting, this could add as much as hundreds of kilos and has to be considered to comply with all the maximum ATM (Aggregate Trailer Mass) of your caravan and maximum GCM (Gross Merged Mass) rating.

The GCM (Gross Combined Mass) come in the tow vehicles features handbook. This is the utmost total weight of your car and caravan combined and it is set by the car or truck manufacturer.

Any extra weight applied to your stock standard auto (roof racks, camping products, boot luggage, extra spare tyres and even passengers) is added towards overall GCM which could possibly reduce the tow ranking, be sure to check your vehicle specifications. As a general general guideline, the heavier you create your tow vehicle the less you'll be able to legally tow. Exceeding the ATM or GCM might make towing unsafe and avoid insurance and manufacturer's warrantee.

One last little matter to make it somewhat more confusing but is additionally important. GVM is the Gross Vehicle Mass of your tow vehicle, this weight rating likewise cannot be exceeded first of all and would be aware of check before even taking a look at your GCM for protection, insurance and warranty good reasons - check the manufacturer's features.

2) What is the Tow Ball Mass and also Tow Ball Weight Standing?

Tow Ball Mass would be the physical downward weight your caravan puts on your tow ball when hooked up. As a general general guideline for safe towing, the very least 10% of your overall caravan weight (ATM) must be on your tow basketball. (Unless otherwise specified by means of manufacturer)

Correctly distributing your caravan weight allows for safe towing. Having less than 10% of your caravans ATM while tow ball mass would be the major cause of unmanageable caravan swaying.

Common causes of inadequate tow ball mass are merely by loading too much gear/weight driving your caravan and mismatched elevation between car and caravan for the hitch point, both of which bring about your caravan to experience 'nose up' increasing to be able to sway uncontrollably.

Tow Ball Weight is the term for the horizontal pull rating of your tow ball. Make sure you check the tow ball weight rating of your tow ball that has already been fitted to your car or truck, this is not always rated to fit your vehicles maximum towing capability. For Example: 2. 5 tonne rated tow balls are commonly fitted to 3. 5 tonne rated vehicles - be sure to check.

3) What Terrain are you taking your caravan over?

Knowing what terrain you may be driving on will decide the suspension setup. You basically hold the choice of On-Road or even Off-Road type suspension having all single axle caravans. Tandem axle caravans offer On-Road, Partial Off-Road and Off-Road type suspension.

On-Road Suspension

Generally means non-independent and non-load sharing that's OK for a smooth ride on sealed bitumen highways. Great for touring the primary 'on the map' places of Australia where Caravan Park hopping would be the plan of attack to your trip. The most economical suspension but the capabilities are limited. Do not make an effort to take an On-Road setup Off-Road - they are simply not designed to address the varying and typically corrugated Off-Road conditions. If your caravan has standard On-Road suspension from factory, then chances will be the rest of your caravan might also not be designed or even structurally sound enough to address these conditions either. (Corrugated roads are any killer for On-Road build caravans with this suspension a result of the minimal resistance to vibrations and also uncontrollable swaying)

A widespread example of On-Road, non-independent, non-load sharing would be the traditional Beam Axle suspension.

Partial Off-Road

For tandem axles solely that generally have possibly load sharing or impartial capabilities, but not each. It is important to spot what capabilities your Semi Off-Road suspension is designed for. Independent acting suspension will be what helps your caravan track behind you, minimising the particular uncontrollable swaying and vibration, in particular on corrugated roads. Load sharing suspension helps to spread the load evenly between the tandem axles when manoeuvring over larger dips and humps which helps prevent suspension component failure due to overloading. (Common caravan park speed bumps can temporarily overload one axle during a period without load sharing capabilities).

Total Off-Road

Fully independent and fill sharing suspension is what on earth is classed as Off-Road suspension. Independent means your caravan will certainly track better through corrugations although minimising vibrations. Load giving enables your caravan in order to safe and effectively manoeuvre over large dips and humps similar to speed bumps without overloading the axles.

Shock absorbers can be fitted to nearly all suspension types to help cushion the impact of sharp dips and bumps which also helps to track your caravan and also minimise vibrations (Simplicity suspension might not need shock absorbers a result of the reverse spring, independent and also load sharing design). The addition of shock absorbers may help improve the overall performance of your suspension, but only to the conditions your suspension is capable of, or designed for to start with. Adding new or beefing in the existing shock absorbers will certainly improve, but generally will not let you take your On-Road suspension Off-Road.

4) No cost Camping or Powered Caravan Playground Sites?

Knowing whether you are free camping or getting the convenience of a centric caravan park site or even both, will determine the formulate and configuration of the caravan.

Powered Caravan Playground Sites

This option gives you one of the most variety of choice with deciding on a caravan as you don't necessarily have to be self-sufficient. Toilets, showers, laundry facilities, electricity, BBQ's, world wide web, TV reception and running water can all be provided depending on the caravan park. The most basic of caravan setups can still provide a great holiday providing the particular daily caravan park site fees fit affordable.

Free Camping

The longer you travel the harder savings and freedom you receive with free camping since you are not spending your money on caravan park site fees. The catch is you have to be correctly setup to enjoy the same conveniences of the caravan park which may appear at a considerable preliminary expense.

More thought and consideration is required of your caravan layout to add the space for use and storage of the utilities and appliances.

Items to consider:

Electricity will require the provision for residential solar panels and batteries fitted and/or possibly a generator dependent upon your requirements. Toilet, shower and kitchen requires water tanks and pumping systems installed. A Satellite for TV reception and also a BBQ, grill or stove/oven with regard to cooking, not to mention the appliance and dryer for the full free camping setup.

Of course many of these things can already be installed when purchasing the caravan, it's just a matter of exercising what things are considered important to your household and having the correct information to make an informed choice any time buying your caravan.

5) Size of your Caravan

There are lots of things to consider when determining the length of your caravan.

• Price!
• Size/capacity of tow vehicle.
• Number of men and women to sleep.
• The desire for space invading utilities: shower, toilet, kitchen etc.
• The desire for space invading appliances: TV SET, washing machine, microwave for example.
• The height of caravan for storage in a home garage.
• Fuel economy normally - the smaller, reduce and lighter your caravan, the better for your towing car or truck fuel economy.
• Ease of towing.
• General living advantage.
• Storage requirements.
• Quality of construction and its particular weight.

Generally when choosing the length of a caravan, there is actually always a compromise. It is advisable to work out what you can't change or manage (like the minimum quantity of beds or the maximum height to suit in garage) as it'll quickly form a system to base your judgements.

By writing down your 'necessities' as well as your 'nice to haves' you may be surprised how narrow the option of caravans becomes the particular further down the list you receive.

6) Materials & Construction of Caravan

Depending with your needs and budget, the materials and construction of your caravan can vary significantly in quality and selling price. There is always going becoming a caravan that is greater and better, but the trick is to discover the caravan that is built and created to an acceptable standard with the objective you intend.

Once you have worked out where you want to take your caravan, you'll be able to confidently match the engineering requirements geared to. There are always new products and technology being introduced from the manufacturing of caravans (especially wall structure, ceiling and floor materials) which often all have their benefits and drawbacks. It is a good plan to familiarise yourself with what has been thoroughly tested over the years to help compare with new technology that could be considered suitable for your needs.

A few simple ideas

• Wood frame vs aluminum frame - Wood framework caravans are popular when they are generally cheaper to create and repair, but commonly lack strength, are at risk from wood rot and are slightly heavier in comparison to aluminium framed caravans.

• Composite screen, fiberglass, sandwich board, foam infill and also other similar type wall development - These wall development techniques definitely all have their particular advantages, generally (but not really always) strength, reliability, padding and weather proof features. The disadvantage is it is generally more expensive to purchase and repair these materials and can be heavier than the cheaper more prevalent alternatives.

• Aluminium cladding - Is used together with wood or aluminium framework caravans and is the commonest type of cladding as a result of availability, ease of setting up and repair, and the relatively low priced of material, but are inclined to dents and scratches.

• Chassis construction - A fantastic solid engineered chassis can be a critical component for any caravan, but with a compelling construction comes added weight. Hot Dip Galvanising may help preserve the structural integrity from the longer term by avoiding rust.

• Suspension - Match the terrain you want to travel (Bitumen, corrugated dirt or full Off-Road) with all the capability of the suspension, easy as that.

7) Study reviews of similar auto and caravan setups

It pays to read any comments or opinions by caravan owners having similar setups. There are generally always both positive and also negative reviews, tips and tricks that may give you that extra inside information that may persuade you to obtain confidently or sometimes moreover not to buy, helping you save time and money.

8) Condition of Caravan

Unless you are buying brand new, it is a good idea to get a in depth pre purchase inspection from a local caravan service/repair centre. This will give you advisable of the condition from the caravan and possibly save you 1000s of dollars down the track. Ceremony get professional hitching, towing and also combined car and caravan suggestions.

There are a lots of pit falls to keep clear of, here is a listing of common things to check:

• Make sure it isn't stolen - View the particular registration papers, validate the owner and compare the (VIN) variety matches documentation.
• Any signs of normal water leaks or damage must be professionally inspected for solid wood rot.
• Rust and other structural damage can be a definite red flag.
• Inspect the general condition from the caravan for its age to be a guide to how it is treated. If it's very nice condition for the age group or price, inspect the chance of the caravan staying superficially repaired and exclude any further structural injury.

9) Insurance

Don't be left crimson faced (or worse) if something was to look wrong whilst towing the newly acquired caravan. Get insurance when you tow the caravan away to shield yourself from those inevitable outcomes we call 'accidents'.

Remember that the insurance insurance plan won't be worth the particular paper it's written on when the legal requirements regarding caravan hitching and towing are not adhered to - check the manufacturer's specifications with your car and caravan before towing.

Read your insurance plan, 'full comprehensive accident cover' and also 'manufacturing fault cover' are generally 2 different things - make sure you are covered for each, especially when water damage due to improper sealing is anxious.

10) Regular Maintenance

Visit your neighborhood caravan and service restore centre before venturing in those weekends away or even touring holidays. The professionals are there to ensure your car and caravan will be correctly setup, functioning properly and throughout road worthy condition ensuring a safe journey for your household.

Recreational vehicles, also known as RV campers, are the evolution of a concept that has been around for over 200 years. There have been nomadic groups of people throughout human history, but the RV approach to mobile housing seems to trace back to France. Hundreds of years ago, animal-drawn carts and wagons were designed and adapted as long-term residences and homes. These caravans were initially popular with circus performers and traveling salesmen. As the technology spread across Europe, it became more popular. The Romani people began using caravans in the 1850s. The famous covered wagons used by the settlers of the Western United States were more rugged versions of the original caravans. Motorized caravans were first produced in Canada in 1910, and they began appearing in the U.S. and Australia in the 1920s.

Today, RV campers are popular in the United States for vacationers and retirees. Thousands of state and national parks offer accommodations for motorized caravans. Private sites and communities number in the tens of thousands. These accommodations generally consist of a long parking space, often with pull-through capability, an electrical hookup, and a water line.

A parking space generally costs between $20 and $40 a night, providing visitors with an affordable alternative to a hotel. A recent study showed that using n RV for a trip will save the average family between 25-60% on their vacation cost. RV campers are incredibly popular today, with more than 365,000 being sold in 2014. Over 9 million families now own some type of this vehicle, with the average age of owners being 48.

A recent survey of families that vacation using RV campers showed a higher level of satisfaction when compared to families that travel by car or plane. Some of the more popular reasons given were that the time spent driving was relaxing and enjoyable, rather than stressful. Traveling in a caravan also gives families a perfect environment to interact when compared to the cramped confines of a plane or sedan. Group activities such as board games and puzzles are easy to complete due to the spacious interior of the vehicles.

In short, RV campers are part of a 200-year-old tradition that began when someone decided they wanted to live in their wagon permanently. Today, you can cross the country in a 60-foot luxury land yacht with virtually all the conveniences of a modern home. RVs are one of the best ways to see the natural wonders of our state and national parks, all while keeping your family in a close, relaxed environment.

For decades now, travelling has been one of the most cherished hobbies of most people. We all love to explore new places and learn about new culture in different countries. But these days, independent travelling seems to be in craze.

People want to break free of the stereotype and want to do something unique which is why most people prefer to ride in RVs rather than hire cars or go with travelling agencies. • Travel Trailers: These vehicles are almost the same as motorhomes except for the fact that they do not have an engine and must be towed behind other vehicles.

• Truck camper: These are the perfect accommodation for people on the move. The camper is placed on the back of a pickup truck, and you can take them anywhere you like.

Whatever you choose, it will serve you well travelling on the road. Everyone can travel by planes, trains and automobiles, but it takes a bit of an adventure spirit to travel in RVs.

Popular pros of RVs

Whether you're a biker with a building hobby or a builder with a bike hobby, you probably dream about one day creating your dream motorcycle. There is nothing more satisfying than collecting each part, carefully selecting each premium piece, and finally putting it all together. However, if your building plan includes purchasing any used motorcycle parts, make it a priority to properly clean them before stowing them away for later use.

When you get your hands on a new bike part, road elements like dirt, oil, and grease must be completely removed. To get everything sparkling clean, you will need the right tools for the job. A cleaning brush with stiff bristles will do nicely. If you are cleaning a surface that has been painted, put that bristle brush down and pick up a textured rag: you don't want to scratch a stunning vintage paint job.

After purchasing a beautiful piece such as gears or a kickstand, make sure it is perfectly clean before you store it away. Head to your local auto store and pick up petroleum solvent and a basic engine cleaner. Look for one that is soap-based, as it will combine with the grease and dirt, making it water-soluble and easy to remove. Applying this directly to the metal will allow you to remove the majority of the dirt and grease with just a spray of water. If your bike piece is extremely dirty, give it a good soak in a bucket of the engine cleaner you purchased. Use your stiff bristle brush to take off the dirt and grease, and spray the rest off with water. Finish the cleaning by using your petroleum solvent. Just dip the part in petroleum solvent and clean off any remaining dirt or grease. This will return your part to mint condition.

While most are made with aluminum, steel, and other long-lasting elements, old motorcycle parts are still susceptible to rust and decomposition. Before packing things up, make sure that your parts are not only completely clean, but also perfectly dry as well. This will prevent rust from accumulating in the future. Paper towels or a rag will work nicely. If you want to get everything perfectly dry, you can use compressed air to ensure all water droplets are removed.

That said, don't turn down a prize bike piece just because it is already a little rusty. Rust removal can also be part of the restoration process. If this is necessary, begin with a thorough cleaning as described above. Then, using steel wool or a wire brush, gently sand away as much rust and corrosion as possible. Avoid altering the shape of the part. Complete the process by priming the piece with a rust-preventive coating such as paint.

When everything is rust-free, clean, and dry, you are finally ready to pack it away. Use airtight containers to prevent moisture from accumulating and creating more rust on the metal. Store your containers in a dark, cool location, and label them for ease of use. When the time comes to build your dream bike, your collection of motorcycle parts will be in mint condition.

Honda Motor Company is a Japanese multinational corporation producing automobiles, motorcycles and machinery. Honda bikes are generally passenger friendly guaranteeing safety, economy, durability, comfort and style. The KTM Sport motorcycle AG or simply KTM is a globally reputed motorcycle manufacturer based in Austria. KTM motorcycles are more known for their styling and off road capacity. Engine performance and fuel economy are also their highlighted features. Here is a review of their two entry level popular bikes seen nowadays - the CBR250R and the Duke 200 respectively.

In terms of styling, the CBR250R looks more cultured while KTM 200 is more modern and sharper. The CBR 250R is a fully faired, sporty looking motorcycle which has a racy design. On the other hand, KTM Duke 200 is a naked and aggressive looking bike with an urban styling. The visible difference is mainly the front fairing in the CBR which is not present in the Duke. The Honda bike has a comfortable sitting position while the KTM bike has a taller stance which may be uncomfortable during long rides. But the Duke is 20 kg lighter than CBR 250R.

Both the bikes are powered by a by a liquid cooled, four valve, DOHC engine though Honda bike has a higher displacement. CBR has a 249.6 cc displacement which is only 200 cc in KTM Duke. But this difference is not seen in the power and torque output. Both the motorcycles generate about 25 bhp of maximum power output and the torque figures are 22.9 Nm for CBR and 19 Nm for the Duke individually. The CBR 250R engine is smooth and refined with a long gearing. KTM Duke 200 is more aggressive with a shorter gearing.

The light weighted KTM Duke is no doubt easier to handle. Honda CBR 250R is heavier and also bigger in overall dimensions making it a difficult bike in city traffic. However the suspension in Honda bike is softer in CBR which is a blessing while riding over bumpy and potholed roads. The stiff suspension in the KTM bike is not a favourable one for Indian roads. And the overall ergonomics of the Duke 200 are not at all impressive because the foot pegs and the gear lever shifters are placed far away from each other unlike the CBR. Finally it can be said that KTM Duke is good only within the city boundaries, whereas Honda CBR 250R is a gentler motorcycle which can be used for long highway drives as well.

However Honda CBR 250R is dearer at a price tag of Rs 1.65 lakhs. KTM Duke 200 is relatively cheaper at Rs 1.37 lakhs.

Motorcycles open up a whole new world of driving. Not just a means to get from point A to point B, motorcycles allow drivers to navigate roads, paths, and trails only common cars could dream about. People fall in love with the sport and recreational fun of motorcycles for this reason and more. Although motorcycles are fun and exciting to ride, they are also very dangerous if handled negligently. Aside from motor vehicle accidents, weather and simple road obstacles are common unforeseen hazards that can put even the most experienced driver in danger. Continue reading to learn some helpful tips about safe motorcycle navigation on hazardous roads, as well as, who to call if you or a loved one has been negligently injured on a motorcycle.

Unpredictable Roads

There are several roads that take an unexpected turn, causing unexpected accidents and injuries. Twisty roads, loose gravel, rock beds, unleveled surfaces, mud, and more are common obstacles that motorcyclists must look out for. Gravel roads, in particular, are very difficult to brake on properly, especially for novice cyclists. One of the most frequent occurrences from riding motorcycles on gravel roads is flat tires. Although a flat tire is not a scary situation, it can be dangerous if a tire blows out while riding on dangerous roads. This can make a driver lose control, swerve, slide of the road, and wreck their bike. Often times, motorcycle accidents like this cause serious injury or death. To combat this type of road surface, simply keep steady and maintain your speed. Have your hands firmly gripped to the handlebars, but in a relaxed manner. Also, keep your distance from other vehicles, and wear your helmet shield in order to protect your eyes from flying rock or gravel. Remember, staying in motion gives drivers a better chance at stability. This means, do not panic and brake instantly when you reach gravel or rocky roads.

Muddy roads are a huge problem for motorcyclists because bikes are nearly impossible to navigate in these conditions. The best way to avoid an accident is to avoid riding on a muddy road altogether. If the road is only slightly muddy, then simply use caution and drive slowly to avoid slipping or sliding. If the bike does begin to sleep, immediately take your hand off the gas, but do not brake, and allow the bike to re-stabilize on its own.

For meandering and winding roads, like in hills or mountain ranges, it is safer to drive slower as well. It requires ample practice and experience to learn the skills of accurate timing and best judgment required to navigate twisty or narrow roads on a motorcycle. For novice bikers, it is recommended to start on small hills and practice using good timing and navigational judgment while taking turns and twists. You will eventually learn how to set up for a curve. Ride to the outside edge, and then lean through the curve and follow it at its widest angle. As the apex approaches, throttle and speed up just enough to straighten out the bike as you come out of the curve. This skill takes years of driving experience to perfect.

If you or a loved one has been recently injured in a motorcycle accident caused by the negligence of another, contact a licensed motorcycle accident lawyer right away. You or your family might be entitled to compensation for your suffering and damages. Motorcycle safety is vital for everyone. If you enjoy riding on the open road, be sure you are protected with proper gear, licensing, insurance, and driver knowledge.

If you're in the delivery business there are two simple questions with a vast array of answers. Should you buy a van outright, with or without a finance deal, or should you rent one? When you are choosing your next vehicle for your courier jobs should you go for a gas or hybrid variety?

Rent or buy?

When you look at buying your next vehicle, you need to look back at your current experience driving and completing courier jobs. If you bought your van for cash the last time, at least the whole value of the vehicle belongs to you. However, for many, while they purchased it outright, it was on a finance deal. If you need to exchange your van before the previous finance deal is clear you will either need to clear the debt first, suffer any penalties, or roll the outstanding amount into your latest van.

The downside to buying outright is the high amount of depreciation of your vehicle once you have driven your first mile from the glossy showroom. For that reason alone, most experts suggest you buy a low mileage used auto. Rental companies often want to move on their vehicles before the vans become a liability to repairs and heavy servicing costs. The downside of buying a used ex-rental van is that previous occupants and owners may not have driven the vehicle with a high level of care and attention.

You need to go back to school and prepare your math. The cost of renting a vehicle will be much higher than buying on finance and making monthly payments, but if you rent, you won't be due any servicing or government auto charges to keep the vehicle on the road.

Taxation evaluation

To consider the different charges completely, you should talk the whole process through with your accountant. They will know all the various tax benefits related to buying, renting and using finance deals.

To hybrid or not to hybrid

In your mind, you probably believe that it is about time you drove a solar powered van that costs you nothing in fuel. In the real world the next best choice is to consider the various non-gas options currently available.

For van drivers in courier jobs the emphasis is currently on alternative fuels, but away from French fries fat, LPG or natural gas, you are left with a hybrid electric van also powered by gas when your batteries run out of power. The auto market has filled with hybrid sedans and very small vehicles, suitable for one person with a small suitcase. For the driver that has to pick up and deliver anything from a pencil to a stack of new televisions, the hybrid is only just arriving on the market properly.

The cost keeps rising

Unfortunately, the real damage to the van market isn't just in the fuels used; it is the price of buying a hybrid vehicle. The cost of purchasing one of the few hybrid vans available is so much higher - thousands of dollars more than the gas only option - that to buy a hybrid and balance the extra miles per gallon you might achieve, doesn't make your accountant or the mathematicians sit up and look excited. If you only operate your courier jobs around town, you might be able to run a fully electric van all day and have no gas charges at all, but the 100 mile limit won't get you very far.

For those with special needs in vehicles and transportation, a choice growing in popularity is the custom conversion van. Handicap accessibility offers luxurious interiors, automated lifts, high-tech controls and mobility enhancements that make traveling easy and convenient. When deciding on handicap van conversions, the owner should first choose which requirements and amenities are needed to safely and comfortably travel.

Interiors
For someone who spends a fair amount of time on the road, finding a vehicle to suit special needs often starts with the interior. Comfortably soft leather and suede make the ride a luxury rather than a mere mode of transportation. Flooring and carpeting for easy movement and cleaning are chosen to suit individual preferences and needs. Exotic wood finishes are also popular additions for sideboard paneling, tabletop finishes and consoles.

Lifts
For those interested in wheelchair van conversions, special designs for safety and ease of operation in lifts is a priority. Lifts can transport passengers or drivers, depending on the person's needs. These lifts can present access from the side or back of the vehicle, depending on design preference. The type and size of wheelchair transported on the lift can be specified for the best fit and most convenient management of the device. For larger sized vehicles, there may also be room for additional passengers as needed so that those in wheelchairs need not travel alone, but can join the rest of the family and invite friends on trips and other excursions.

Controls
For everyday driving, hand controls are a top priority for some handicap van conversions. Foot and leg strength may be insufficient for pedals in some cases, so custom hand controls may be an important addition to regular travel for business or pleasure. Some automated hand-controlled items might include brakes, transmission positions, lifts, signals and mirror adjustments.

Enhancements
Like many vehicles and custom van conversions, handicap van conversions might also include state-of-the-art video and audio equipment, specialized lighting, refreshment areas and low-maintenance amenities. For those who like to take long trips, features such as handicap accessible restroom areas, computer workstations and room to roam are important comfort features.

When selecting which features and amenities should be incorporated in handicap van conversions, owners should consider functionality, comfort and style in their designs. The easier and more comfortable the vehicle is to operate and ride in, the more likely the person is to go about their daily routines without restrictions from mobility.

Every car owner wants their truck or car to run smoothly. Having great horsepower and getting the best from your engine is your dream so that the vehicle runs to full capacity. Well, if you have your engine tuned and a new exhaust installed, you have given your car some tender care. However, it is not enough, there is always more you can do.

Maintaining your car is your responsibility. Not only will it ensure that your car runs efficiently, it also saves you the cost of having to repair and install new accessories all the time. Here are some of the maintenance tips you can use for your vehicle.

Rusting starts from the inside of the pipes to the outside. This result from the moisture in the exhaust tubes which comes from the exhaust fumes that condenses in the tubes when the car is cooling off. Some aftermarket suppliers provide a chemical placed in the system to absorb moisture. It will help reduce rusting and you can always have the chemical replaced when it's saturated.

When driving, always ensure that you do not straddle paths and pavements to prevent your tips from collecting particles that could block the system. Driving over bumps should be slow and calculated to prevent your exhaust tips from being hit. They end up becoming loose and will eventually hang out. The rubbing of the system causes holes that lead to loss of power.

As you drive, always listen to any noises coming from under your car. Loud clatter noises indicate a hole in the system; some clog on the other hand will show that the muffler has too much soot that will interfere with performance.

When the inside of the muffler is clogged, most times it needs replacement. The outside on the other hand can be cleaned together with the tips. Use a dry cloth to wipe off the soot and dirt from the outside of the muffler. If there is too much grease, use a wet cloth with some soap then dry off the muffler completely. It may not shine completely but maintains a good look on the exterior of your car and prevent clogging.

Fasteners and hangers loosen up over time and need to be tightened once in a while. There are faults that you cannot detect by merely looking under the car. Get a professional inspect your car once a year. They can either tighten the system or advice you on replacement of the faulty parts of the system. In the option of replacement, contact suppliers like magnaflow for advice on the best accessories for your exhaust system.

Keeping your motorcycle up and running is dependent on each part that does its own function well. For this, they need to be maintained perfectly. One such indispensable component is the battery. Often, it is taken for granted and not enough care is taken on time. Let us examine what steps need to be considered in this regard.

To begin with, where you park your motorcycle for long periods is key. Out in the open, there is always the risk of the bike, and especially the battery, having to brave the elements. The rains, in particular, can be very damaging if it is for a prolonged period. The moisture can seep in through the rubber seals on the battery panel and effect corrosion. Besides the monsoons, extreme cold can also be an enemy to your battery. A sharp drop in outside temperature could drain the battery and require recharging.

If the place where you park your bike is important, equally so is how you place the battery in the bike. Ensure that it is securely tightly and is not subject to moving or rattling with the movement of the vehicle. If not strapped, it can result in the body getting bumps and the water in the unit spilling. Remember, exposure of the acid within the battery to the bike's body can lead to the paint getting spoilt or corrosion happening.

Likewise, subjecting the battery to too much cocooning can also be bad for it. While protection is required, there should also be adequate air circulation. The hydrogen that gets produced inside the battery, in the absence of proper ventilation, can result in something as serious as an explosion also. The holes provided for circulation of air should be kept free and unhindered so that the cells in the battery can function without fail.

As for the battery's life, the maintenance required should not be ignored. From time to time, the terminals should be given ample greasing. To ensure that there is no build up of dirt or grime, it should also be cleaned from time to time.

Finally, batteries may require maintenance over and above the cleaning and greasing. The water inside does the job of keeping the cells working smoothly. Ensure that only distilled water is used to top up the battery levels as per the minimum and maximum mark displayed on the electrolyte indicator.

If available, a voltmeter can be put to use to check and test the running of the battery. Not only is it important to have one that is always in top working condition, but also to make sure that it will have a long and productive life ahead.

From a time when there were hardly a handful of car and motorcycle models plying in our cities to the modern day era when there is a never ending plethora of auto brands inundating our streets, things have changed tremendously. If this signifies a more prosperous population enjoying the benefits of a better lifestyle, it also is bad news in another respect.

Our cities and our roads are no longer safe. There are more traffic jams and more accidents all around. The worst affected out of all mishaps that happen in our streets are two wheelers. So what are some basic city riding safety tips we can look at?

1. Your bike may be fast and powerful. But speed can be your number one enemy on the road. It doesn't matter that you have excellent control of your bike. Mistakes can happen to the best of riders. Also, road condition may not be good at all. Equally unpredictable can be the driving skills and discipline of other drivers around you. It is better to exercise safe riding rather than risk your life.

2. Roads have an equal number of bigger vehicles. Given the crowded situation, the best course of action to take is to stick to one's lane. Bigger vehicles like buses and cars would be driving faster. So bikes should keep to the left lane to avoid any skirmishes.

3. The cardinal rue of safe driving or riding is not to mix drinking with it. Never ever get behind the wheel or handle if you have had even a drop of alcohol. Quite understandably, alertness of the highest order is needed while on the road. There is no room for compromise on this.

4. Equally critical a rule is not to ever use mobiles while riding a bike. Any communication that comes in the way of riding is dangerous. It is all the more risky when it happens in the form of talking on mobiles. You may have to either take off your helmet or slip in the handset to your ear. Both of these are unacceptable.

5. Another tip on safety while riding a bike in the city is to avoid tailgating. Often it is seen on Indian roads that there is a penchant to get too close to the vehicle in front. This results in very little distance between the two drivers and leads to a mishap due to shortage of braking space and time. Adequate distance should be maintained, whether to the front or back or to the side.

6. Finally, never ride without a helmet. It is the most elementary mistake that a rider can make. Always strap up before getting on to the bike.

You own the road. That's why you bought a motorcycle in the first place. The freedom that comes with riding is unlike any other; the open sky, the wind between your knuckles, the escape from society. However, with greater freedom comes even greater responsibilities. Read on for important tips on DIY motorcycle repair, maintenance, and how to keep your bike rollin' forever.

Follow Ownership Manual Recommendations

I'd be willing to bet that the people who built your sled know a little more than you when it comes to the inner workings of your bike. You wouldn't deprive a horse from water during a long ride, would you? The same principles apply when it comes to maintaining a healthy bike. Always refer to the manual's recommendations, which advise you on oil type (weight), service procedures, maintenance schedules, and more. Use it or lose it, man!

Break Your Engine In Right

The most critical miles on your horse are the first few hundred. If you mishandle or abuse your bike during these early stages, you'll regret it later. Each bike comes with its own set of procedures for engine breaking. Some may be as ambiguous as "Take it easy," while others may be more specific with complex directions that involve RPM limits and the like. Nevertheless, chill out and let the wind do the talking.

Change The Oil

This one's a no-brainer, right? Wrong. So many riders become so busy staring at the endless sky that they forget to regularly change their oil. See your sled's manual for specific instructions on how to do this and for scheduling intervals.

Air Em' Up

Keeping the right tire pressure will help save your bike's chassis. It'll also help save you money at the pump. Who doesn't want that? But the most important reason why you need to maintain the correct tire pressure is because it's downright dangerous to ride on soft tires. Soft tires mean less traction, and less traction could lead to an accident. Be safe and keep those tires checked!

Grease Your Bearings

Some riders think that only motocross bikes need greasy bearings. That is not true! Whereas the sealed bearings are relatively maintenance free, exposed areas like suspension linkages need regular care. Keep em' greasy, and your ride stays sleazy.

Check Your Drivetrain

Oiling your bike and greasing your bearings make up two-thirds of your sled's overall health. But to keep your bike running smoothly at optimum performance, you need to keep up on the drivetrain (the chain, belt, or shaft that connects the engine to the transmission). A worn out chain, tethered belt, or beat up shaft can ruin your bike. Check these for excessive oil deposits regularly; if you're not sure what to look for, take it in to a motorcycle repair shop for a checkup.

Ride Right, Ride Smart

Gunning the engine in order to feel your sled's awesome power race through your spine is one thing, but blatantly breaking local speed laws and general rules of safety doesn't make you cool. Nobody wants to share the road with a clown. Additionally, you'll get years more of pleasure out of your bike by treating it good. Always obey traffic laws and just ride smart. Your motorcycle repair shop will love you for it.

Introduction

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is a medium-sized, compact car from the famous SUV manufacturer. Its design roots can be traced back to Willy's MB and Jeep CJ that used to be produced back in the early days of the SUV. The new Jeep Wrangler models have the traditional toughness you could expect from a Jeep yet gives an entirely refined appearance. The new 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is expected to hit the showrooms later this year. So, let's give you a run-down of what you can expect from it and what changes are present from its earlier 2016 version as well as what its competitors are up to.

Appearance

The new 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited won't have a complete shift from its 2016 version that's for sure since any major design overhaul from the company invites scepticism from the auto lovers. Most of us have been used to the rugged frame, full throttle four-wheel drive and a pair of robust axles and so we can't expect anything too far-off. But, regarding the new model's materials used, Jeep is expected to use rendered Aluminium since it will make the car even stronger yet lighter. You can also expect the iconic folded down windscreen as well this time around!

Any mechanical changes?

Since Jeep has going on about it a while, we can possibly expect it in the 2017 edition, and that is the small matter of automatic transmission. The 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited had 6-speed manual and 5-speed automatic transmission, and the problem was with the latter since the power breakdown wasn't enough to cater for the heavy requirements of an off-road vehicle. So, Jeep will increase it to an 8-speed automatic transmission this time around, and this will help improve the accelerator response and fuel efficiency on the go for the new car. Torque is expected to remain unchanged at 260 lb/ft. The same thrilling 4WD experience will also be continued (Like it is ever going to end!)

Fuel Economy

Thanks to the new 8-speed automatic transmission and body frame, the fuel efficiency of 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is expected to increase significantly this time around. It can be as much as 1-2 mpg in manual transmission and 3-4 mpg in the automatic transmission. The car is expected to continue with 87-Octane fuel just like before.

Any price concerns?

They are expected to go up a little bit more than the yearly inflation rates since the change in the transmission and body would require more premium work. Price range from a manual transmission-based two-door Sport model

Competitors

Nissan Frontier, Subaru Forester, Toyota Tacoma and Colorado from Chevrolet are just a few of the competitors you can expect to give a tough time to the Jeep's new and refined monster. But regarding fuel economy and pure thrill, who can come close to this beauty?

When is the release date?

The new 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is expected to release by late 2016 or early 2017 according to carpreview.com.

$25,000 and a fully loaded Rubicon around $45,000 inclusive of the destination fee that was about $1,000 on its own.
